Tap into a wealth of knowledge from one of the world’s master portrait photographers, Greg Gorman, in the dynamic metropolis of Tokyo. This intensive, three-day workshop will take your photography to the next level. Find the most flattering angles of your subject and learn a variety of lighting techniques both in an indoor setting and outside. Learn how to give direction to your models and portraiture subjects to achieve superior results. Work together in editing and post-processing your images and receive critiques on your work.
For decades, Greg Gorman (www.gormanphotography.com) has been entrusted by world-famous entertainers, stars and royalty to portray them at their best. Now, for the first time in Tokyo, seize the chance to learn from a maestro who has photographed the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Jordan, Grace Jones, Halle Berry, Andy Warhol and so on and so forth.
You will use the latest in LED lighting technology with Rotolight (TM) lightweight, sleek and portable lights, as well as top-notch reflectors and silks from California Sunbounce (TM).
First, observe Greg as he demonstrates with each model in a variety of set-ups. He will coach you on how to light, position and direct models after finding the strengths and weaknesses of their features. This will prove to be invaluable for you to win the confidence of your clients and portrait subjects.
Then you will shoot in small teams and receive plenty of one-on-one attention, as a total of four professional photographers will work with you to make the portfolio-worthy shots you want to take home.
Greg will look at your work each day and give you valuable feedback on shooting, lighting, editing and post-processing.
Each night we will feast as a group, enjoying some of Tokyo’s world-famous cuisine (included in the price) as we talk about life and photography and bond together.
