HAGI: A SPECIAL RETREAT STYLE WORKSHOP

with Laura Valenti

Dates: APRIL 19 - 26, 2027

(Dates to follow Abell, Meyerson, Nobechi Weekend in Hagi. TBC)

OVERVIEW

Join photographer and educator Laura Valenti for an intimate photography workshop in Hagi, a historic town on Japan’s western coast known for its preserved streets, artistic traditions, and quiet atmosphere.

Participants will photograph throughout the town while exploring how observation, personal perspective, and a deeper connection to a place can shape a meaningful body of work. Through guided assignments, conversations, and group critiques, Laura will encourage each photographer to move beyond individual images and consider the ideas, emotions, and visual relationships within their work.

With its layered history, coastal landscape, and strong traditions of art and craft, Hagi offers a rich setting for a thoughtful and creatively focused, even meditative photographic experience.

This workshop is offered immediately following the grand finale of the private Arthur Meyerson, Sam Abell, George Nobechi train journey, with public weekend talks, exhibition, reception, and group photo walks April 16, 17, 18, 2027.

THIS WORKSHOP WILL OPEN FOR REGISTRATION SOON.

PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW TO BE ALERTED.
