With a host of all new locations and curated, classic favorites, this journey transports you from the colorful metropolis of Tokyo to the rugged and rural coast of the Sea of Japan before continuing in the verdant forests of Kyushu, in southern Japan.

The journey begins in Tokyo at the peak of fall color in this amazing city. Tokyo-born-and-raised George Nobechi will show you some of the best his hometown has to offer. Our excursions will focus on using the colorful backdrop of trees to our full advantage as we work to compose street photographs and color moments in a variety of “off the tourist path” neighborhoods and parks. We will eat and drink well together in this world class culinary capital.

We then depart for the western coast of Japan to explore some of Japan’s most photographically rich locations, ranging from vibrant cities with traditional architecture and gardens to rural coastal villages with stunning, barren landscapes.

Our journey then resumes after a flight down to Kyushu as we travel across this volcanically rich island by ferry and bus, exploring the wonderful geography, fall color and spiritual history of Japan’s southernmost main island.
